The new Nikon W1: just tested it
Jul 31, 2013

Hi everybody,

Well, finally, here it is: the new Nikon W1. Just took my first sample shots with it, have to postprocess them though, but I am sure you are curious about this new Nikon 1 camera.

The $2 remote is used to trigger the shutter simultaneously on both V1's.

The metal bracket is screwed to the quick release plate of the tripod. Both V1's are set at an angle so that their respective fov's slightly overlap.

The Nikon W1 on my lightweight Manfrotto tripod.

On to the posprocessing now!

I am sure there are many interesting thing to do with this setup, like 8K movies - limited to 2s - or 3D shots. Do you girls and guys have any ideas?

Ummm. . .  it only comes in white?

Whatever you do, don't turn it around and shoot a brick wall.

Clever title

Those two look unusually good together.

Could be a real time-saver if your work demands shots from 2 angles, and not necessarily mounted on the same tripod, but further apart too.

Interesting setup. You should certainly be able to get some ultra-wide panos with that.
