Epson 2200 / 2100 External Waste modification video
1

I just finished producing a video covering the process of modifying the EPSON 2100 / 2200 to accept an external Waste Ink receptacle.

I also posted pictures in an earlier post

Some of you may still have an Epson 2100 or 2200 that would probably benefit from this modification.

Hi Joe, if you want to do a video on cleaning the wiper blade on the 3800, I’m sure that would be greatly appreciated too.

Very thoroughly produced Joe. Can I clarify one (silly, really) thing? The company called that accessory "Potty" for a different reason to the one you thought it meant. Certainly in the UK "potty" can mean daft but using that name by the company would more relate to an earlier utensil (before indoor toilets) known also as a "Potty", being a receptable for "deposits in the night" and as those usually were put under the bed, known also as "Guzunders". Hence a receptable for unwanted deposits.

LOL Thank Zone8

Here in the USA when babies go pee-pee we call it going potty. My friend Martin ( UK ) had just had a newborn baby and the idea came to him.

Printers "pee" waste ink so..... why not. The Waste Ink Pad is the Diaper or Nappy!

When my wife saw the unit, she asked what the heck did I now get, I explained what it did, before she had a chance to actually read the name, and she then paused and said..... Brilliant!

Yes - good fun!  In the UK, when someone was said to be a "little potty" - it had two meanings.  One (meant) was they were a bit daft but the joke side being they were being called, in effect, a Guzunder (actual real name was Chamber Pot - so you can see where the POTty came from originally)

Amazing what comes to light when discussing printers!

Great job on the video.  Makes it much easier for those trying to set up the printer potty, easy to follow instructions, visual is always good!

My printer potty is working great... rescued my 2200 printer and saved me lots of money!

The best thing about the 2200 is not just the roll paper cutter attachment, but the fact that once you have an external waste ink tank, you reset the ink counters manually without software.

I posted the process before, with the pictures of the waste tube mod.
