RX100 Mk2 - adjust NR?
Jun 29, 2013

Has anyone read anything which suggests that the noise reduction  can be adjusted downward or turned off when shooting JEPG with the RX100 Mk2?

Good question, and, several days of further info gathering, anyone know the answer?

Imaging resource provide jpegs with two NR settings, I assume the second being labeled as default (NR1 and NR2D)

The NEX 6 has two adjustments of NR - low and standard. Both are way too heavy-handed. It sure would be nice to have the ability to turn NR off in JPEG. Especially if the RX100 mk2 handles high ISOs as well as Sony claims, most users would be able to shoot JEPG at ISO 100 and 200 with no NR at all, and ISO400 with only slight NR. That would be a big step forward.
The ability  to choose how much NR to use is one of the major advantages of RAW (right after the increased amount of info in RAW).
