A fanciful image originally created for the 43rumors site by a viewer named Michael I recall but not attributed in that report.

"Photoshopped image of GX2"

if it has the GH3 sensor and in body EVF. If it is rangefinder style, it won't be too ugly, or so I hope.

If it hits the shelves in autumn, it will be just in time for the dark season. - Peter.

Why people expect good things to come from Pany?

The specs for GX2 rumored here seem very plausible.  Over in 43rumors copied from another site their rumored F3 specs also include IBIS, new 18 MP sensor,  tilting EVF, and faster shutter speed?  If the $800 price holds true then the projected specs by  newcamera  seem more likely.

THIS is it folks:

44 MP "Feelmeon" sensor, GoogleGlass style EVF goggles, camera is mounted hands-free around your neck ala Bob Dylan harmonica style, 4-dimensional IBIS (it moves fwd and backward in time also), 3" 1080P plasma screen (requires 120V line). Starting retail will be $2300 body only, which will drop in 3 days to $599.

Does it come with the 120V line, or is that an add-on? If it's with I'm in, but I refuse to buy it seperate. That and lens hoods.

Actually Digicam.info is the main source of rumor, but the website is in Japanese language.....  43rumors and thenewcamera.com using it as a source.

Why do you even question Panasonic?  Their 20/1.7 pancake is the first, way before Oly.  Then again their Pana-Leica 25/1.4, 45/2.8, and their 2 zooms are fantastic lenses, not to mention their GH videos capabilities.

Specs are sounding exciting, but that picture is purely fanfiction. Note how the EVF and the pop-up flash overlap

Also according to the latest rumours it will feature a tiltable EVF.

i own both Panasonic and Olympus bodies and lenses...I can tell you that good things do come from Panasonic.  Blind obsession with one brand can prevent you from getting better products when they are available.  Besides that, obsession with an inanimate object is just silly.

In response to the "good looking camera" comment there is the matter of ergonomics.  Panasonic has continued to manufacture bodies which are comfortable to hold and solidly built.  Your preference may not be the same as that of others.  Having the OMD EM5 and EPL-5 (I favor the EPL-5) and the GH3, I can tell you that the GH3 feels better in hand.  It is not a case of how the tool looks but how it fits and functions.  It is also a case of having good, solid construction and parts which do not fall off.

Hopefully the GX2 will have its own movie mode, like the GF6, with manual exposure controls.

"Photoshopped image of GX2"

And that "photoshopped image of GX2" is a fail - they kept the flash yet added the EVF into the same space.  Anyone who actually owns the GX1 knows how much body space is taken up inside the body by the flash tube and arm; there is no possible way the EVF can be in the proposed location and keep the flash system in the same location, as well.
