Re: Open thread - NEX pic of the day-week-month-...

Thanks! That's a nice compliment. I have found myself "flowering" (the equivalent of birding, I guess) quite a bit this spring, as I learn how to use the NEX and the few lenses I have with it.

Re: 3 shots mini series. Sacred Kingfisher doing the spitball trick

Very nice series. The story telling is excellent, colors are excellent, and the reflections add a nice dimension to the whole.

This one's better :)

The subject was more engaged and I used a NEX-5n, IMO the first curtain electronic shutter shoots faster than the NEX-5, so didn't miss as many shots.

Re: Cat in a box multiple

That's an ingenious idea, and an engaging series of photos. I like them both. "The subject" was the same cat in both, right? Markings certainly look the same from this great distance.

The Saint Louis Cathedral Basilica. Shot with Sigma 8-16mm. CS3 PP. Besides the blown out windows, I dig the shots taken in here. Next time gonna have to bracket. Also coming the e16f2.8 + UWA, I'm blown away with what this lens gets through it.

I took this pic with Lens Turbo and later noticed that it nicely improved central resolution of an otherwise soft lens. The corners are still soft, but it's not often noticeable.

More dogs -

Sorry for the rear end of the golden retriever. I liked Merlin's (the German Shepherd Dog's) expression enough to process this anyway.

It would take me way too long to decide which image that would be.

Oops, my "bad." I mistook this for the "Post your best NEX image ever" thread.

As I liked your shot, here is the NEXt one. This was taken about two hours ago after the sun had dropped behind the hills using my day old 1018 lens. I think I am going to like this little baby on my Nex7. I haven't used wide angle lens before but I think I'm going to like it!

The cathedral in Tortona, Italy.

I visited a couple of churches during a trip to Italy. The low light performance of my NEX 6 really impressed me!
