Open thread - NEX pic of the day-week-month-...
a couple of hours ago when testing my new (old) lens
Some lovely images here. Great work and even better inspiration.
I went out last night with Nex 5N & Sigma 30mm into Cambridge centre. Went to the top of the open roof car park to take a generic sunset shot. Mainly wanted more material to practice HDR processing.
Took 5 shots, 2 stops apart. Tweaked in LR4, then merged using LR/Enfuse (costs minimum of £2.40!). Then tweaked the output TIF in LR4 again. I'm happy with the results. I've used Photomatix and Nik HDR and didn't really get on with either. I'm sure it was just my limited technical ability, but I was getting shots with haloing and high noise. LR/Enfuse seems to do a much better job off the bat.
One more from yesterdays walk along the border of BGL national park in the eastern alps.

Beautiful shot - excellent details. Would you ever consider doing a little noise reduction on the background, and just a touch of it on the hindquarters of the cat (not on the face or forequarters).
Whether you would or not - great work!

From about two weeks ago - NEX 6 SEL50F18 - as usual, please see gallery image at "large" or "original" size. [for some reason, the image shows up in the pre-post preview but it won't show up once I post it. It's still available in the gallery if anyone's interested.]

Hi all, new poster here, although i've been crawling this forum for quite some time :).
Anyway, this is my shot(s) today using Canon FL 58 F/1.2
Solas, Irish American band, playing Back Porch Concert in Durham NC. Nex 6 with kit 16-50mm processed to high contrast with Snapseed.
First time I visited The Salt Lick BBQ south of Austin I regretted not taking this picture. Last week I had my NEX in hand. Loved the dynamic range. Opened up the shadows a tad in Aperture 3. This is an open fire pit you walk by on your way to your table. Only in Texas.
Just walking down the street in Philadelphia with my NEX 7 and 18-55.
How about starting another open image thread and see how far it goes ? Feel free to add your images of the day, ...
