I'm looking into the old Pro 5 myself and noticed the Profoto site is terrible in giving information.

There is NO information about it any where.  ANYWHERE!!!!

Any one have an old spec sheet sitting around any where you could share???

Hello Michael.  I Have (qty 2) Profoto Pro studio generators and (qty 4 heads that I am selling), and other studio lighting equipment including light stands, booms, backdrops, etc.

Please reply for more information if you are still interested.

thanks,

Corby

Jake,

The Pro-5 is self seeking voltage and no problem to use with 220V.   You would have to change the modeling lamp as they operate directly off the incoming voltage.

The Profoto Pro 5 was phased out about 1997 or so ....  it differs a bit from anything that came after.

The Pro 3 and Pro 5 systems had a trigger voltage of 700 volts.  The Pro 6, Pro 7 and Pro 8 are 1000 Volt Systems.

So while many accessories will fit, flashtubes are definitely different.   Also using Pro 5 (PF) heads on current packs would have a significantly shorter lifespan for the flash tube.   Using later heads on a Pro5 pack would result in possible misfires.

Hope that helps .....
