X100S Clean RAWs at 6400? Yup!

I'm sure there's been talk of high ISO with RAW files in the X100S, but I made this in response to someone on another forum thinking only up to 3200 were usable. This shows that 6400 is *easily* usable! I mean, like reeaaally nice, imo. What noise is there is quite pleasant too! The person who questioned it very quickly agreed-- usable!

Wow,cleaner than my Nikon pro camera!
Can't wait to get my Fuji x100s this week.

I knew when I had the x100 that at 1600 it looked better than my DSLR's with high end zooms and primes.

Can't wait to get the x100s!

Since ACR 7.4RC I also found my RAF XP1 files very good at 6400 ISO night shots

12800 is OK for A4 prints in normal indoors light

Brian,

thanks a lot for the comparison!

But am I missing something? Apart from the more blueish tint I see no difference in Detail-rendition, noise or nise structure.

A comparison to OOC jpeg would be more interesting in this case.

Close call I say.

I don't know what to say. I see a difference. It's not huge. But, when I look, for example, at the panel of the printer on the left side that is a little more in the shadows, there is less contrast in the noise. It stands out less to me.

Pixel peeping insanity, indeed.
