Converting images to low res?
Mar 29, 2013

Question:

Can  I load a bunch of images in a folder & do a quick conversion from a high res image to a lo res image(s) all in one, at one batch?

Would it be done best/quicker in Light room and/or PS?

What be the lowest res file setting to use?

I want 'em to see the image but difficult to get any good print from these images.

thanks a bunch

If you have catalogued images in Lr, then you can export any you select in whatever resolution you want. Photoshop is basically a single image editor, it isn't set up for this. You can cartainly do it from PS, but it is more complex.

The donation-only viewer program Fast Stone has a batch conversion dialog. Choose by dimension, file size percentage or target size, etc.

It can be done batch wise in PS and LR but I always go to Qimage Ultimate as it allows more choices in a transparent way and has good anti-aliasing choices with downsampling.
