Contax g 28mm F2.8 Distagon or Biogon
I read a post here recently that said the distagon was sharper than the Biogon version.
I checked on ebay and 2 come up as Contax g 28mm distagon F2.8. They are selling for a bit more than the Biogon.
But the photos show Biogon clearly on the front of the lens and it looks identical to the Biogon versions.
Is there in fact a separate Distagon model and if so does it have any identifying marks so you can tell?
Thanks for that. Would a cy lens fit into a Contax g adapter do you think?
Biogon is a rangefinder design where the rear element is close to the image plane(sensor), the Distagon is an SLR design where the rear element has more "distance" from the imaging plane.
So, no, the C/Y Distagon will not mount to a Contax G mount directly, you may be able to kludge it if you can find an adapter to Contax G, but I doubt it, but why would you when there are easier ways to mount C/Y to NEX.
We're the references you talking about the Contax G or ZM Biogon?
How about asking the seller what lens he really has?
All the Contax G 28 mm are Biogon and will give the Nex 7 sensor magenta corners that can be removed via Adobe DNG FlatField plug-in. For the Contax Distagon 28mm (for SLRs) that is not a problem.
Thanks for the replies. As far as Contax g or ZM biogon I believe the it was Contax g.
