Happy with D7100
1

Hi everyone this is my first post.

Coming long way from Nikon, Canon & Yashika film cameras. Then moved to digital with 5400 (was excellent point & shoot, still missing it) then D70 & D80 (D80 still kept as second body as like CCD colors & skin tone, excellent camera uto ISO 400) then I bought D5100, specially for low light capabilities & latest technology, but not happy with sharpness & color (more reddish) & skin tone, hence sold last month.

As no budget for D4 or D800 thinking for D5200, and they announce D7100. Just got yesterday here in India. Posting some initial photos (rather very first download straight from camera, without any PP).

D7100 is excellent camera in every respect & I am very happy with it. Still trying different settings but at least on day one I don't find any issue like focusing, banding etc. Color  Sharpness, Dynamic Rang  on every front I think this will be winner.

Will keep posting, highly welcome your comments.

Thanks & kind regards,

Rajesh Khante

Good selection of shots, Rajesh. You are obviously taking it through a range of subjects and it looks great in all of them. Enjoy.

Thank you for sharing. Did you get the kit lens and if so how do you like it?

Re: Happy with D7100

I only purchased D7100 body, as I already having having 18-105 VR, it is excellent lense, previously also using it on D80 & D5100 with equally excellent results on evry body.

Besides above also used 40 mm micro, 55-200 & 70-300.

50/1.8 not yet tried.

Exelent. Everything looks really nice except for  the last 1.3 cropmode-pic. Is it banding in the background. Did you push the ev-comp in post on that????

Your images look great. Are you shooting jpeg or raw? What Picture Control are you using and any other info on your settings would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Happy with D7100

Thanks John.

As said earlier, Not a single picture was PP. All are straight from camera.

I got only one day to play with so even default camera settings are also untouched, only increse sharpness setting for some pictures, that's all.

Re: Happy with D7100

Rajeesh, the fact that these are straight out of the camera makes them all the more interesting. If that is what default settings produce then imagine what we will be able to get out of it with some practice. Thanks so much.

Nice work, Rajesh.  The 40G Micro looks outstanding on this camera.
