I'll pick the black body Aleo Have fun and I'm sure you'll keep some of your trusted M43 lenses. Camera bodies changes all the time so your lenses will be the most portable and long lasting gears (i.e. even changing systems).

Yes it is decided for the black version.

I will keep my Micro 4/3 system to have fun on comparing the size.

Thank you to all for participate. Minox is a good brand and different, after all I think they were the first brand to concern about size.

Only one choice

Buy both!

but, can you be happy limited to a 41mm effective FoV?

Think you'll need to pick up a set of accessory lenses as well.

Sorry.

I confess to not knowing anything about the output of these cameras as I have thought they were sort of a novelty item.

I'd go with the silver for day shooting and black for after hours.

Well, the Olympian spirit of the OMG (or is it the OMD)...anyway, same thing, must be working amongst us. But I fear that you are on a downward spiral which can only lead to complete devolution....to this!

The IQ has never been very good but they are really durable cameras. I gave my six year old one for Christmas and he has already dropped it four or five times but it just keeps on clicking.

People are always stopping him to ask if he's a professional photographer!

What is the lever for?
In reply to Aleo Veuliah, Mar 21, 2013

Cute camera. I wonder what the lever is for that would advance the film on a film camera.

I agree with others that the viewfinder looks ugly.

Another thing I would really hate is to use a camera that displays how many megapixels it has in such an eye-catching way.

I wonder that too. I think it must do nothing. But it can be to turn the camera off and on, or to enter in the view mode ? It is a mystery. The truth maybe that is there just to decorate and give the film camera look.

It's possible
In reply to Aleo Veuliah, Mar 21, 2013

that lever is there to actually cock the shutter.  If it's a purely mechanical shutter...

Imagine having to flip that for every shot.

I think you are right, and this gives a more film camera feeling.

When will Minox ever wake up?
In reply to Aleo Veuliah, Mar 22, 2013

They own the full rights to and probably still have the tooling to produce, the quintessential spy camera: the Minox B. I have a B in great condition - heaven knows where I might get film for it, but I still have it, and the meter still works. It's a beautiful design, slender, very well made, quite useable despite it's tiny size. Spies actually used the B. James Bond used one, and you just don't get any cooler than that.

Yet, the best Minox could do recently was a somewhat lame (and larger) DSC digital version.

Break out the old molds, start turning out B bodies, put something better than a cell phone imager in them, and and they'll win the hearts (and dollars) of every James Bond wannabe out there. (including me) I'd love to have a digital B, in all it's slender brushed steel glory.
