Fujifilm FinePix 40i review
Jan 9, 2003

Well I had the 40i for over a year now, and I'm still
happy with it. The mp3 function gives me about 3h 35m
using 2000mah AA's! - just heard 2100 mah have arived
(1600 mah gave 2h 45mins). With 2300mah AA (4h)
and taking pictures every couple of secs with 50% flash and LCD on all the time I get 99mins. When Phil tests batts he has the camera off 50% of the time, so this
would extend to around 2h 30mins.

MP3 function useful when DIYing! (~2h 45mins of songs @ 96kb on a 128Mb ID card)

Movie mode (128Mb SM card gives around 12mins of 80sec bursts with sound @10fps)

TV out!

Comes with 3 lead - usb, video and Mp3 controller
software + updates can be D/L from fuji web site

Good little pocket camara - should see them 2nd hand now....

I you see this camera second hand make sure it has ALL
leads with it.
I've seen them now at £210 refurbished

Prints look as good as film from Safeway
and is much cheaper than printing at home.

Problems:

Doesn't Like Low light levels
On screen in the highest res, you can see *some* ccd
noise in darker areas, but 'neat image' software obliterates
this nicely. (Note: ccd noise cannot be seen on prints)
Digital zoom, rather than optical (ok for web stuff though)
