Olympus FE-190 review
Since I was a kid, I've been using the Olympus half frame camera (70's) - you know those compact 135's that made a 36 shot roll into 72+. Good for the all around daily household or family shots whose prints go into an album. The half frame does not allow much enlargements. I think the FE 190 currently fulfills this role, too, and the limitations that go are just fine with me. By the way, that compact half frame still works right until now - 40 years! Hope the FE 190 lasts the same.
I can understand the thin rechargeable battery of the FE 190 which should go with the thin and portable construction of the camera. But shouldn't it be more helpful if an SD card is used instead of the xD card? For me, they're just memory storage. So why change from the popular SD? xD cards are not sold in most shops and they're more expensive than the SD. No manual nor web info state the average length of battery life once it is fully charged. So how can consumers estimate their shooting times?
