Canon SX40 HS: Fantastic Camera with great zoom and night shots; Sample picures
They always say: A picture is worth thousands of words.
Here are some examples using my own SX40 HS:

My old SX20 IS used to come with normal AA batteries, where I could find at any grocery store.
I have to buy an extra battery to make sure that I am not going to loose opportunities, while waiting for the battery to charge.

I checked out your photos and THEY ARE AMAZING!!! Did you really take those w/ this point and shoot? I have a Canon T2i but am getting ready for some overseas travel and wondering about taking a lighter camera but really don't want to trade in the quality. Does this camera have enough manual controls that allowed you to take these shots? Wow, that moon! How is that possible? Love the sunset and rainy glass and snowflakes... beautiful!!!
You have mastered the SX40! I still say it has better IQ than the SX50, but it's probably the person pressing the shutter. These are all beautiful images..from any camera. Congratulations!
Great low light shots at F2.7!
It is nice that the SX40SH has a fast lens!
Will the SX60HS have an F1.8 lens?
f 1.7 i hear ..........;-)
