Just thought I wood join in, with all the C--P, that you are posting, just for a bit of fun,

seriously  was it you whom posted the lion Photos, you must admit they are out of Focus, and have excessive grain,

there must be something wrong with your camera, have you thought about sending it back,

and investing in a HS50exr, they ARE the best bridge cameras, according to the photos I see posted here in the Fuji Form,

You do no there is a Panasonic forum for inferior, and grainy photos.LOL

have a nice day

What is this thread about? I think it has got out of hand completely. As I see it, it's a struggle between Fuji HS50 vs Panny FZ200. Both cameras have their advantages and shortcomings. Right now it seems to be very low and childish level here ..... just my opinion.....

In my opinion, it is about the Fujifilm HS50 and what it performs relative to similar cameras, so you can make a decision about which camera to buy.

That is the point these fools cannot accept Perh.  You want a constant lens, get FZ200 period.

You want a camera with excellent handling, ergonomics, lightning fast AF and STS and framing, get HS50 period.

They will trash the IQ of HS, look at their thrash too so dead even.

We should actually be comparing cameras of equivalent long range focal lengths- that is, this should be about Fuji HS50 vs Canon HX50 vs Nikon P510/520 vs Sony HX300.  The Panny and X-S1 shouldn't be considered in the same category.

People just need to come to terms that not all of us have the same likes, needs, etc. That's why we have so many different models out there- to each his/her own.

And just because someone likes a different camera it doesn't mean that the one you have is bad lol. Not all people like or need the same things- variety, people!  Any of these cameras can take wonderful pics at lower ISO and any of them can take bad ones too.  At this level, to be honest, it comes down to more the photographer being the variable rather than the camera (not that the photographer is bad, but that he/she may not be suited to a particular camera or may be well suited to it while someone else isn't.)

You speak with great passion and conviction about your panasonic. I know of at least one other that's equally passionate who's conspicuously absent. What's lacking in you FZ200 AND the FZ150 in my opinion, is the lack of tonal depth. It's like I'm looking at a 4 bit photo. While the shots ARE sharp and crisp.... they lack tonal depth (in my opinion). It's as if the processing engines skip several shades of a particular color when going from bright to the shadows. ... again... my opinion. While I critique the HS series for lack of tack sharp glass ... a lot can be said about how well they produce tones... and tone graduations.

My 2 cents.

Kim, it is Spring time now. Don't you wanna go to local barber shop?

Seriously, if you can show me a side-by-side shots of HS50 and FZ200 at the same time and same settings (except constant f/2.8 of course on the long end) then I will be happy to see what you are bragging about here. Shoot also on the longend without TC and any aid on your FZ200.

It is very clear from all the images that have appeared here and also from the only test that has been made, the HS50 has poor sharpness at the telephoto position. That you deny this is the right ridiculous.
