I really think they did a great job with the new D3200,5200,D7x00 bodies!

Detailed post here

A little color correction and it would be perfect. For the price, the D3200 seems to be a very sweet deal!

I bought my D3200 a month ago and I think, for the money, it's a great camera. Although the D5200 D7000 and D7100 have quite a few additional features that the D3200 doesn't , the D3200 is several hundred dollars less in price, not to mention weight and dimensions.

Maybe it's my eyes, but those images look equally impressive. Nikon makes a very good entry level DLSR, in my opinion

A D800 image in crop mode is 15 megapixels where as the D3200 image is 24 megapixels.

I think they are close as presented here but the D800E has more detail and a crisper more defined. Could be the absence of an opf or the effect of a larger resolving ability.

What it shows for me is that the D7100 is a very good backup camera for the D800/E. the extra sensels per unit area compensating largely for the smaller sensor.
