That, was absolutely hysterical...

When Chato was about four months old, he was afraid of jumping over a two foot fence. Like the true Daddy that I am, I showed him how easy it was to do. He looked up at me, looked at the fence and hopped over it. He then came over and licked my face.

Dogs teach their young the trade...

But I do think, this was just a itty bit unfair to cats, who teach their young how to hunt mice...

Great video.  You gotta love cats -  right to the point.  Imagine the second floor was on fire in both instances - I'll take the cat.

That's a good one.  The cat was both decisive and effective.

I assume this means you toss them into a lake, when they are afraid of water, when they are todlers?

Err, "sink or swim?"

That's more or less what I did; I tossed them into the pool with life jackets on.  The elder was about four and the little one only two.  Unfortunately the little one turned upside down.

Both are pretty strong swimmers now.  You know Australia is surrounded by water, knowing how to swim is definitely more important than knowing how to fire a gun.

I used to "teach" my dogs about water by tossing them in. Unlike humans, they swim instinctively. But I found this method, to one degree or another, 'traumatised" the dog, so I developed less, err, "painful" ways of getting them to appreciate water...

Dogs teach their young to be reliant on others for support, like slaves.. cats teach their young to be mavericks and to do things themselves.

Actually, dogs teach their young how to survive in a society, cats teach their young how to be good little sociopaths.
