>>>Saturday B&W Thread - 2/23/2013>>>

Hello Everyone -
It's time again for your monochromes of the week. You may post as little or as many images you wish to share.
Last week's thread: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/post/50868582
The image(s) can be from any camera, you can say what it is if you like. You can also say whether it was an in camera B&W and the mode or what PP software you use if you like.
Reply to this first post and change your subject line to reflect your subject. Please switch to "threaded view" instead of "flat view". I try and respond to all posts, but if your post is not threaded properly I may miss it.
You may include the colour originals if you like for comparison.
It would be nice to hear why you chose B&W instead of colour.
Please be nice and comment on any photo you like. If possible, let's leave a full day for posting of the images and then we can follow up with comments. This should allow more people an opportunity to post an image.
Thanks in advance to all who participate and for making this something to look forward to each week.
Cheers
Rick

And I'm still fascinated with a tree in my area. Light was good yesterday and LX5 is a lot of fun to shoot.

Many times I thought of selling or giving away may LX3; I am happy I didn't. Pictures taken using the internal flash and pp with Nik Silver Efex 2 and Lightroom 3.

The two cars were shot with the 20mm f1.7 set at 2x making them eqv 80mm. The ducks were 20 mm (eqv 40mm). I was out playing with the digital zoom on a prime and discovered it gave me three wonderful lens choices in one lens. the 20mm f 1.7 is bright enough to handle the digital zoom with little to no noise in most cases. Fun to discover this stuff. The GF1 may be getting long in the tooth, but it still dances the dance.

Hello to everyone here.
Having dropped off my son at his boating lesson, I took a walk around the old industrial part of Pireus, the port of Athens, and took a few shots in the hour or so that I had. Hope you like the shots.
Regards
Byron.
