Pets - Add Yours.
Feb 4, 2013

Like everyone who has one, the enjoyment of our pets is a source of great joy.

Here's a few recent shots of Honey, my now 7 mo. old Yellow Labrador Retriever.

I refuse to sit about and wait to die.  I will not go gently into that good night just yet.

This shot was taken a few weeks ago after her surgery to remove the female parts.  She never bothered with it at all, and the shaved hair is growing back..With her is Kitty Kitty, her favourite toy that goes with her almost all the time.  Stuck in her mouth.

Add your shots to this post, maybe your pet fish??

I use my pets a lot as models when I'm trying to figure something out. They're around, they're cooperative, and they don't charge much.

thanks will.  The cat shot is cute.  I am so very very allergic to some cats, about 10 minutes and the ambulance must come.  People once put the cat in their bedroom at a party and when I collapsed, they blamed me.  Never ever said they had a cat when asked.  It's not being in the room, its something that floats in the air.

I'd have one otherwise.  We had scads at the family farms, but they were barn cats.  Keeping the grain in the loft free of mice.

It's too bad the farms are gone.  Great stuff for shooting on any farm with a barn and some animals.

farm cats and mice
In reply to OntarioJohn, Feb 4, 2013

John,

One of the most impressive things I have ever seen was a cat catching a mouse in a barn. This was eons ago. One of my sisters kept a horse in a stables way north of Dallas. I went out with her one evening to keep her company while she fed the horse. It was well after dark. As we approached the barn door, which was closed, a cat came running across the open yard. My sister said, "Watch this." Then she opened the door and quickly turned on the lights.

I just had time to nice half a dozen or more mice scurrying for cover. The cat seems to have had a laser guided targeting system, because it locked its sights on one of the mice, shot like a rocket into the barn, jumped over some equipment, up and over a couple bales of hay, and across a beam—and caught the hapless mouse.

I recently upgraded from a P&S to an A57, which I absolutely love.

Picture of my Husky girl. She runs up to the camera, so she's hard to capture

Here is a picture of 'Tessie', our 3 year old German Shorthaired Pointer at a local park. The park requires all dogs to be leashed. She would have preferred to be off looking for birds to point.
