Cop kills wife and 5 year old son then himself, all were shot in the head !
|
Authorities identified the shooter as Hans Walters, 52, a lieutenant with more than 20 years on the force. His wife, Kathryn, 46, was a retired officer. Their son, Maximilian, was 5 years old.
All were shot in the head.
He would have been a great school security guard, not ! The NRA is so full of shi*.

Had Maximilian had a gun he could have shot his father in self-defense. Always mind the NRA wisdom: the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun!

Wayne Lapierre's good guy with a gun turns bad guy with a gun

Sad indeed, but that's what can happen when guns are around. Sad that yet another kid became the victim of a gun.
Despite what Wayne Lapierre want you to believe, a good guy with a gun can suddenly turn to a bad guy with a gun. That's the way human emotions work. Now if only the NRA can figure out a way to make sure a good guy with a gun stay a good guy.

Simple, just don't pissoff a good guy that has a gun.
So if we ever meet in person, you had better be nice to me.

Hair trigger mentality to take the lives of one's own wife and 5 year old kid is mental sickness indeed.
If I had that mental makeup, I would not want access to a gun because a gun makes it easy to do something you will regret for the rest of your life. Unfortunately for the Las Vegas officer his regret was enough to make the rest of his life very short.
Sad ending to the life of a family because of a gun.

The life of police officer is incredibly stressful. They have one of the highest incidences of suicide of any profession. Pity he took his family with him.
However, consider that even in the most draconian gun control situation, he would still have had that gun.

True about the stressful life of a police officer. That, along with their need to be armed with guns makes it more imperative that their mental condition be scrutinized more thoroughly than, say, a clerk at WalMart.

hundreds of thousands of people commit suicide each year, some with guns, some with knives, poison, etc. it is a sad thing.
So I don't really see the point of you bringing this up.
I don't know a single country where cops don't carry guns.

Instead of looking at the guns, take a very strong look at all of the recent events we have all heard about and read about over the last few months. Will you do that for me?
How many murders with guns have happened recently? Quite a few, right? School shootings, mall shooting, theater shootings, etc, etc, etc.
The common denominator is TWO FOLD.
1. Guns were used in all of them. That just happens to be the choice of weapon right now.
2. Males are all the criminals.
Perhaps we should ban men from this Earth as well as guns, right?
Take some time if you will and figure out what it is that makes 99% of these crimes, committed by men.
Blaming guns, would be like blaming the Airplanes for 9-11-2001.
Lets blame Sudafed for all the meth heads in this world.
Lets blame Chocolate and Coca Cola for obesity.
Lets blame McDonalds for heart disease.
Lets blame Knives for all the stabbings.
Lets blame Religion for all the wars.
Lets blame Alcohol for all drunk drivers.
Lets blame rap music for, well, pretty much everything wrong with our youth today.
Lets blame Blue Jean makers for kids wearing the pants below the butts.
Lets blame Airplanes for 9-11-2001
And finally, lets blame MEN for 99% of crime in this world. Sad isn't it?
Maybe psychologist need to do a better job of understanding what makes MEN tick, and turn violent so often?
The problem is not the ingredient found in Sudafed. Nor is it Budweiser, or the Big Mac, or Hersey's Chocolate Bar. The problem is not Catholics, Muslim's, or Atheists. The problem is not Jet planes, nor is it Rap music. The problem is not Wrangler jeans either. And the problem is not guns.
IT IS MEN, AND THEIR EGO'S. Teach men how to act without anger, and teach them to curb their ego's, and 99% of crime will stop. Easy enough.
Now, FINALLY, take a look back two months and tell me that I am wrong. Men with mental issues, and anger issues are what has caused all of these recent problems. ALL OF THEM.

It is not the brick and knife Mentor, as you know as well as I do, that the tool is not the problem, it is the individual.
As we have seen in the past, Religious fanatics and brainwash people into drinking toxic drinks to commit mass suicide in pacts. It is the mental health that is at issue, whether that be a temporary mental issue, or a long term issue. The fact is, you must have some type of mental illness to take another human beings life, regardless of the tool.
Timothy McVeigh took hundreds of lives with explosives in a truck. Quit blaming the tool and put the blame directly on where it should be, MENTAL ILLNESS.

Why not limit there destructive powers by limiting their tools as well as deal with their mental state which usually does not show until it's too late. If they flip out and there are no guns or bomb materials available? How much damage with a brick and a knife?
