X100 LCD and EVF

I just purchased an X100 and have been surprised at how poorly the LCD and EVF perform.

Both electronic displays produce extremely washed out images.  I have played with the brightness control and it does not solve the problem.

I just compared the X100's display to an old Fujifilm F200EXR's display and there is no comparison.

The F200EXR display gives a pretty accurate rendition of the scene, the X100 does not.  Are others

experiencing the same results?

May be defective. Take it to a shop & compare it to another one.

Cheers,

Actually just compared it to my old F200EXR, no comparison.  It's going back.

Looks like defective - I would not call it washed out at all. Especially the LCD is pretty brilliant to look at. Or maybe you just turned up the EV wheel by accident?

Is the LCD/EVF different than what you saw at the store or where ever you saw it, before you bought it? Versus comparing it to another camera altogether... I am very satisfied with the OVF and LCD (although I never frame an image from the LCD)...

Re: X100 LCD and EVF

Already discussed your low contrast EVF in another thread topic - if the LCD display is similar, then I'd return it. The X100 is not noted for overly poor display outputs.

I believe there is same video supply board driving both displays ... perhaps this is faulty.
