Help - Free us from the burning tire
2

I know this is off topic but is anyone else getting really tired of that darned burning tire Canon ad video in the side panel?

In Oregon you don't need to carry a gray card, you can just point your camera at the sky.

It does get a bit "tiring", does it not?

Then again, it could be worse:

Personally, I don't want to see any of the videos they put on these pages.  They use up bandwidth for no good reason.  Don't even see the point of them as it is.  The people that come to this site likely do so often.  They need to change up this stuff if they expect to keep anybody's interest in what is there because after the  second time you just stop looking.  They would do better with a striking image that they change every day, or even more often!

LOL  It's not just on this site; it's als a TV commercial.  Of course, on TV, I can use it as a b/r break.

You could be forced to hang out on the Canon and Nikon Forums with the  Canon and Nikon fanboys.

Re: Help - Free us from the burning tire

Interesting. As of now, I am no longer seeing it either. Don't get me wrong, it is not the fact that it was a Canon ad that bugged me, it was the way the thing was moving ond constantly drawing my eye from what I was reading on the forum.

Carbon Footprint

Has anyone told Canon there is a Global Warning issue at stake here?  Unless on a car, Tyres are a pollution hazard.  They should have chosen better.

All that ad tells me

is Canon shooters do some really stupid things to get unusual photos (like standing on the edge of a snow covered roof)  Now if the guy about to drown dunked the camera and it still worked, I might be impressed.

Re: Help - Free us from the burning tire

I freed myself a while back by adding css style sheet called fanboy-adblock with my browser because of ads that I did not want to see.

Ciao,
