:-)) Sunday Cat! #277 20th January 2013 ((-:
|
We have had cool cats and hot cats; Canonical cats and Olympian cats; African cats and American cats. There have been Meerkats and mere cats; moggies and high class cats; almost cats and some that I suspect were not really cats at all like that ring-tailed cat that was 'lost', inside cats and OUTSIDE cats; BIG cats and little cats...
Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your picture and stories of your feline companions with us Come one, come all; all cats and cameras welcome. Add your favourite cat shot to the collection. No time limits, taken any time, any place, any camera.
Thank you for joining us
Welcome to the Sunday Cat!, brought to you from around the world by the loyal team of regulars every Sunday since Anton AK first started the thread on 23rd Sept 2007 and so faithfully continued by John King from 10th August 2008

Closer, come closer my precious!
The weekly news ...
AND BTW folks: The Sunday Cat! will (mostly) start when it is still Saturday in the rest of the world, Auckland being GMT +12 hours ... So it is still only around noon "last" Saturday in Hawaii (just for example ... ). With the only preferred rule being no criticism, of course it's OK to give constructively if the poster specifically asks for it; otherwise the above-mentioned rule applies... It's OK to mention what camera and lens you took the shot with... if you like. Love the Cat! thread... Like our beloved companion animals, an opportunity for a romp in the sun, and also to remember those who have so affectionately touched us.
So I took a break from my uni assignment just now, walked out to the kitchen and saw a cat on the fence - OHHHH! I need to get some fence cat shots for the Sunday Cat! ohhh it's Sunday today... Ohhh... I should have started a thread! ahhh haha
Welcome back to those just back from holiday, I hope you have had a safe and enjoyable time Welcome also to the new posters, and thanks for sharing your feline friends with us
Thank you as always to the regulars who keep this thread going each week, we are forever indebted to you guys and gals from around the world for both your company and kindnesses!

Buster is often inscrutable - but not last Saturday:
Can't you see I'm taking a nap?

Game on!

I've got to rest now ...

These are from a couple of years ago. All with the E-510 + f2.8/25 pancake, IIRC - check the EXIF data.

Hopefully I got the order right ...
After all that exercise, she needed to have a little rest ...

People often talk about dogs waiting for their companion animals to come home, but rarely about cats doing the same thing.
Ours recognise both our ("new") cars, as they did the old ones. When they hear one coming home, they generally go a sit in the entry of our house and wait for whomever it is to come in the door.
Nice shot of Dusty loyally and patiently waiting ...

Nice shots of some of your brood. Exactly how many cats do you have living around ATM?
The shots through the table are strangely interesting ... I reckon that you could try some more deliberate shots using that. Might come to nothing, but equally might lead to something interesting. Just an idea. We have the same kind of table in the garden, but far older and less translucent than yours.

In the Snow and after that relaxing.

Winter in Holland, temps at night between -5 and -10 C, about 10cm snow and 40-50 Km/h wind what makes it feels very cold. Athos isn't sure if he likes it in the snow (I have to put him in the snow for the picture) but later on he become more easy with the white stuff. Blitzer, having heavier fur than Athos, enjoyed himseld outside.
That white stuff is cold on my paws
That better, it's warm inside
I'm a real Maine Coon, I like snow and cold
But under the bushes, out the wind, it's better
And above the central heating is the best

Thank you, John.
I have 4 cats that live in the house (or go out): Mia, Fritzi, Tuli & Darki.
They are another 3 cats (Basti and her kittens GW and BW)
Basti is the sister of Darki but I succeed to domesticate only Darki.
I feed all, Basti & kittens comes in the house and eat from my hand but I can't touch them. If I try they run away. I hope in time they will be more domestic.

You're right. Ours do the same tr
hing, whether they're inside or out. They know the sounds of our car, wait by the front door, and Anna follows me around the house for ten minutes of "greeting".

I don't know who exercised more patience - you or Lizzie? Did she pick out the color of the bed spread? So complimentary!

Athos looked a little tentative out there, while Blitzer seems very content drying his soggy fur out!

Hi everyone. I apologise for missing a few weeks but have been pre-occupied with computer dramas. Everything is now back under control with no data lost. The gang of 3 are all well.
I have no new shots, so here are two taken a few days after Cleo introduced the kittens to us. That's Meggsy on the left and Bindi on the right. As you can see, they were already quite big. It is amazing how Cleo managed to keep them a secret for so long.
These were taken on my Samsung point-and shoot by a friend who baby-sat the kittens for me. I'm very glad of that as otherwise there'd be no record of that interesting time.
The young family.
Ma, she's getting more than me!
