Strangely, it wasn't easy for me to do this...

I find it amazing how much of the detail is lost through jpeg compression

Using your raw file I was quite impressed with the detail (foreground and background) that you captured. I used a 50% size reduction at a 70% quality level (which is quite generous) and quite a bit of detail escaped to jpeg heaven.
It amazes me (at times) that people will spend thousands of dollars on equipment, based on 900-1200 pixel web based examples.
Nikon should offer you a stipend for sharing your well exposed NEF raw files, after having the opportunity to work with your files (with various raw developers) I find any harsh critcism of the Nikon system to be questionable at best and is usually ignored. Please view my edit for a better idea of the detai Gerrard has captured.
Pkeas view at full size.

Nice job!
Was this done in Photoshop CSx, or some other editing program(s)? (I ask because I'm having a difficult time with this image in Photoshop Elements 10.)
Thanks,
Art

I too have PSE 10 but I use it mostly when working on layers. This was entirely done with Aperture. A screenshot of adjustments applied is better than any description. The colour correction was mostly to create a more natural looking green.

It appears that the adjustments you made are not available in PSE 10, either in its version of ACR or the editor. Would you agree?

Agreed. I think you can reproduce most of it in PSE 10 but completely differently and I'm no expert in PSE.
