Post Your Naked Trees
Dec 29, 2012

It's the time of year when we can see the framework that supports the covering.  Some trees have some real character underneath.  Of course it's best to walk around it and look at all its poses while it stands still.  I can see Tolkien's inspiration to create the Ents. Here's a cool tree in my neighborhood, here in St. Louis. Happy New Year !

These pics do not look so sharp; are you using manual focusing from the enlarged view? Try it and show us what that lens can do, please.

I like trees in winter silhouettes, yes i do.

You had me at naked...

Shot with Pentax Takumar 105mm f2.8 @ about f8...

That's the sun in the background, trying to be seen through thick fall overcast.

If you take a great photograph, I really don't care whether it came from a Leica or smartphone. Just share it.

It looks like some of the limbs and branches on the left side are trying to break free from the 2D  world.

Vivitar 400mm

I was trying out a new lens I bought cheap. probably shot wide open (f5.6) with an ISO and shutterspeed that's to high. IQ would have been better at smaller aperture as it's a bad lens wide open.

Here is mine.  Taken this morning next to my house,  Hand held at 210mm.  Not bad for a 73 year old, even if I say so myself.
