Hi John,

I enjoyed your Texas .... lots of denim in Texas

Nice stuff, must be the work of many years.

Thanks Mark, yes this is a combination of work I have done since 2004.  I don't get out Nearly as often as I would like (as most photographers will say) so most of it is not very current although I have many projects in the works right now.  Thanks again for looking, John

Thanks very much Lord Mox!  My photos are a collection from about eight years of efforts so there are bound to be a few decent ones in there...  ;

All I can say is that it takes a lot of practice, work (although I don't consider it to be), preparation, experimentation, patience and creative vision to get the images that you have in your mind onto film.  Sometimes it works and sometimes not.  And if you don't get it the first time, the persistence to try and try again until you get what you want!

Good luck to you and happy shooting!  John

Re: Here is "My Texas"!!

fantastic collection of images, really enjoyed taking my time and viewing every single one on your website, and going back over a lot of them.

you obviously have access to some fantastic photo opportunities, but if we open our eyes fully wherever we live, there are great images all around us, they just need to be found and shot.

thank you!!!!

Thanks very much NikonFboy, really glad you enjoyed them!

Totally agree with you about there being great images all around us and "They just need to be found and shot"!  I get comments regularly how I have strong subject matter (and TX really does) but most all of my subjects have been sought after and searched for to get the shot.  Many times if I see something I like I might even have to revisit the location at another time when conditions might be better.  It has been a lot of work, early mornings, late nights, expense, time, energy, dedication and persistence to get the shot you have in your mind.  I'm not complaining a bit..  in fact it's the complete opposite!  The excitement and adventure that photography has brought to my life has been amazing, I always jump right out of bed when I'm excited about an upcoming shoot!

Thanks again, John

The Hill Country is a Great place for photography, most of mine are from North, East, South and West TX and not much in the Central portion.  Thanks for taking a look, John
