Goes to show that I should waste less time thinking what lenses I "need" and just shoot because look at how awesome your work turns out with the kit lens.
Excellent!

Great photos! Congratulations!
I suppose you were shooting "from the hip" looking down at the screen. The Nex 6 seems a great camera for these types of photos. Small and unobtrusive. And your use of the 16-50 mm shows that it can be done perfectly without a Zeiss prime for $600+ when you know what you are doing.
Would it be a problem exhibiting these pictures in the LA area because the people depicted might be recognized?
Thanks for posting.

Thank you. As long as these people are in a public place nothing is required of the photographer,
I was sitting 5 feet away from this fellow. God only knows what was going thru his mind. Later on I sat at another seat and this man starts talking about wars and calling me general and then sat down next to me a fell asleep...

This brings up a good point. There's a purpose for every lens. I had the 16-50 and sent it back due to poor IQ - specifically it's just not very sharp. But I don't shoot the type of images you do.
You know how to use a lens that's very portable and convenient, even if the critical sharpness is poor.
Excellent job - Very nice work!
