Not the best angle, but you did get some breast feather detail - not easy on an American Robin.

Here is one I took with the new A99 while within the 30 days trial. Guess what? A99 is a keeper! Focus with 70400G was spot on!

Nesting time - birds in nests and birds in flight

I guess I'll try again...last week's wildlife thread post I laid a big goose egg, but hopefully that doesn't mean that everyone's sick of Florida birds or wetlands birds...so I'll try some more and see how it goes...
Cattle egret flying nearby
Pair of great blue herons on their nest
Northern harrier on the hunt
Great blue heron in flight, stretching out to that full elegant length
Sora sneaking out of the reeds for a brief moment
Pied-billed grebe sitting on a mirror of water
Palm warbler sitting in the shade
A sequence of shots of a belted kingfisher in flight - from full speed to hitting the brakes when it sees something, then taking off again...

Very nice merlin shot - I love these smaller hawks - I usually see kestrels, but have finally had a merlin hanging around my home area the past few months, though still haven't gotten as nice a shot of him.

A nice three - the first little chickadee-type bird was caught in a great position. The big herons are always great for some closeups, and the owl is great as always.

Looks like some nice birds to see - you've got a nice goose selection where you are. We only get one type around where I live. The seagull portrait is very nicely done - I like the darker colors of the background and composition.

I sympathize completely - I'd be happy with that shot myself, as I've never gotten to see a robin either.
