SX50 - Galaxies on snow

The snow flakes reflecting the light from a street pole are like stars of the galaxies in the sky (Handheld NightScene):

Thank you for watching,

Interesting color cast also --does Nigh Scene set the WB or does AWB override??  Nice sparkles!!

Nice and abstract, Augustin.  I need to get a bit more artistic too.

Thank you very much! The explanation of the strange color is that almost all our town is being lighted by sodium vapor street lamps. The PP of the shot has been minimal: increasing  contrast and saturation, decreasing brightness and a little sharpening, that was all.

All the best,

Augustin

Thank you, Mario! As always, you're right: mine was a test of the Handheld Nightscene mode at most, but I think the comparison is nice; using a more suitable camera (i.e. with a bigger sensor), a blueish light, some filters and a good composition, I'm sure a professional could get a jaw-dropping image of the "sky on the snow" ! Besides, that were very small flakes, with bigger ones the reflection would be much more intense!

Like French people say: "c'est seulement pour vous en donner l'idee"

Happy shooting,

Augustin
