I received this email yesterday.

Some people here ask why I (the DJ at a wedding) take photos when they have a paid photographer at the event.

And this is the reason I will continue to take photos at these weddings I do. I have just made someones Christmas!

Hi Neil,

I hope that you are doing well! The parents of the flower girl and ring bearer wanted me to ask you if they were able to purchase two of your pictures from the slideshow. They wanted to order big prints because they are the best pictures of the two of the kids from the Wedding. The pictures are the ones when the flower girl is hugging the ring bearer right before the ceremony I believe. Let me know if this is possible. They would possibly like to use that picture for their Christmas cards as well. Hope that you have a wonderful day!

Hahahahahaha! You really must lead an empty, friendless, life. I feel sorry for you.

Here is an email I just received from President Obama.

"Dear Joe,
We regret not hiring you to take the official Presidental Photo. Your photos are so much better than the person who photographed me. As a result of your good work, I am forgiving all your taxes for 2012. You will be receiving a refund check soon."

THANKS, MR. PRES!!!

I thought you said you drove a school bus? Or was that Linda?  Now you email yourself!  How do you keep track of so many personalities????

Why the personal attack? Plus a comment on the OP

So you take the time to create a post to personally attack another poster?

If you have kids, I hope they didn't see it.

As for the OP, it is always nice to be helpful.  The other day I was watching a play and snapping some pics with my D600.  A couple moms asked if I could get pictures of the their kids because either they forgot a camera or their P&S would not work without a flash in that situation.  Again it is always nice to help others.

No, you knew he is a DJ from other threads.

Now you are lying so you can make a personal attack?  Seriously?

Stop trying to be a hero, Neil/Linda has stated many times that Neil/Linda also drives a school bus. Why are you defending Neil/Linda, clearly he/she has you fooled. Stop drinking the Neil/Linda koolaide...hehe.

OK Neil.  You have shown proof that you can multitask: photographer while DJ'ing, photographer while sitting on toilet ...Have you tried capturing adorable child portraits while driving them around?

Not allowed to take photos of the kids on the bus. It's a shame. I could have got some incredible stuff!

Remember, it's not the CPU that's in your camera that makes great images, it's the one located about 4" behind the viewfinder that does.

Except Megan acknowledged in several threads that she knew the guy was a DJ.   You should stop trying to be the villain (although you do a good job )

An open letter to Neil - no one gives a $hit
In reply to NeilJones, 5 months ago

Neil -

I disagree with some others where although this IS a gear forum dedicated to and I quote "Nikon FX SLR (D1-D4, D600-D800) Talk", you can't always talk "gear" like cameras without the question:
"How does this picture look? I took it with such and such settings, this lens, and blah blah"

I've browsed DPR for 12 years, used to learn a LOT about both the gear and photography, but ever since picking up my D800e and browsing this forum of late, it's 60-70% you looking for compliments on your pictures, you bragging about what other people not on the forum has said to you, or someone else (we all know the names) totally sick of it and calling you out.

You're more co-dependent than the clingiest girl I've ever known and resorting to elementary school levels are constantly the guy going "are not" while everyone else is going "are so". Do I think you should be banned? No. Do I think you need to take the hint and do I think the forum needs an ignore option so those of us who know the only contribution you bring to the forum is posts of your own pics - without any of of your own critques or insights - and it's just making a mockery of what should be the more PROFESSIONAL of all the forums on DPR (given the equiptment) Now, I'm referring to type of people buying these cameras, not whether or not you get paid to take them.

This website is and always has been "Digital Photography Review", basically news, rumors, and reviews of digital cameras and accessories. There is a "Portrait and People Photography" forum on the site, that's where most of your posts belong. But a post like this one, I don't know where it belongs, but I know it doesn't belong here. If for no other reason than that no one gives a $hit.

Respectfully,

Kevin Park

Based on your other shenanigans in this forum why in the world would anyone believe that is a real email from a bride?

Two questions for you
In reply to NeilJones, 5 months ago
  1. How does the hired wedding photographer feel about this? I mean, I'm sure you've coordinated this with him/her and made sure he didn't have an exclusive professional photographer clause in his contract, right? Right? And you're also coordinating this request through him/her, right? Right?
  2. How would you feel if in the middle of the reception the wedding photographer wipped out his own iPod-enabled boom box and started blasting out some tunes. You would love this, right? Right?
