The SX40 went up at Best Buy, it was $299 last week. $429.99 now.

Don't forget that Amazon also charges sales tax and that many other sites don't.

For Canadians, Canada Computer had over the weekend sale of $399+13% tax. Some other downtown Toronto stores had last week sale for $409.

Prices are dropping and Christmas shopping is looking good.

And little  correction; Canada Computer has sale for $399 until 2012.12.31

I attempted to order 3 Canon SX50 cameras from Amazon last week, when they were selling for $424.69 each. Two of these were going to be Christmas gifts, and one for myself. Amazon refused to accept the order. They would only allow one to be ordered.

I went to Adorama's site and they were happy to sell me three cameras for $424.00 each (even though the price indicated was $479 until it was placed in the cart). I've done a lot of business with Adorama over the years. It looks like I will continue that business and Amazon can suck eggs from now on.

BTW, as of moments ago, Adorama is still selling the SX50 for $424.00. Ignore the $479.00 posted.

That varies per state, Amazon only charges in certain states and in most of those states, you'll be paying sales tax no matter which site you use.

I received an email with a 30% off any camera in store only coupon today from Staples. This would translate into $450 less 30% for the SX50 ($315) and of course if you are lucky enough to find the SX40 it would be less.

This is with coupon for regular or sale prices and expires on the 8th.

There are also some amazing prices at Target on many Canon point and shoots. A1300 for $60 -in store only price (ends on the 8th), A2300 for $70 or $80 in store (sorry but I don't remember the exact price) and A4000 for $10 more than the 2300.

Happy hunting.

Apology from me. This coupon will not work on the SX50. If you can find an SX40, it should.

I  swear there was a different coupon when I first posted. Maybe they fixed a mistake between then and now.

Staples has a camera coupon valid today through December 8th. It is for in store use only and is for 30% (yes, 30) discount on all clearance and regularly priced cameras. Happy Hunting!

On line, in newspapers, ... ?

Just checked my e-mails. I think this is the one being discussed:

http://reg.e.staples.com/c/s/tagfrm/BQvliSB7SHGCB8viTfDfpx6aGY/coupon.html?n=8436&email=eml5050@msn.com&COUPON_1=28692

It says it is good for regularly priced cameras (or clearance). Check with the store to see if it can be used on their current "sale" price for the SX50. Either way though, it's a great deal.

Thanks

Well, poop.

I'm 90 minutes from the nearest Staples, anyway.  I wonder if any other local stores will honor Staples's coupons...

Re: SX50 $399.99 at Amazon

It is interesting that both coupons have the 28692 code. Since the wording is different my assumption that the "clearance and regularly priced cameras"  version was a typo may be the answer.

Has anyone reading this tried to buy a non-clearance camera with this coupon?
