Really nice set. Some fantastic shots, though the 2nd and 3rd pics of the owl are particularly good. How did you get these, out of interest? Were you in a hide, or was it just a matter of patience?

Nice BIFs. those Owls are really exotic around here. But they better stay there, far away from my cute duckies.

All Ducky-shots are with A77 + Tamon 70-200/2.8, mostly on tripod. With a fast PP and minor crop.

Thanks. No I didn't use any blind, just beside some tall bushes. There was 20 minutes of sunny break between the rain and I happen to be at their usual hunting ground and waiting for some hungry owls. Suddenly there were 4-5 of them flying around low for food, and soon couple northern harriers joined in. All happened within 20 minutes!

Really nice set of images! Excellent light too. You've really mastered that Canon/Sigma combo. Were those done with a tripod?
Also, any idea why the WB on the first owl is different than the remainder?

It is the mirror; I forgot my mono, it definitely needs stabilizing with a crop camera. It sure is nice to hike with its light weight when going straight up th side of a mountain.

Thanks Ed. I didn't use tripod (never like Ito use tripod for BIF) and the weight of this combo prompted me bought 70-400G for my A99. So I will try to use my 70-400 setup next time. I used auto WB so likely that's a camera error but again that could be due to different angle/lighting. Cheers!
