Olav is impressive! He really looks like a wild wolf (specially in the 2nd pic). Nice pal!

I tried a dog thread for most of the year in 2008. Started on weekends but soon had to become the "weekday dog" to try to remotely compete with all the hits those maddeningly cute pusillanimous pussycats can generate in a day or two. Lots of good people from all over the world contributed but those furry layabouts were always way ahead, even though we had leaping dogs, racing dogs, police dogs and working dogs of every description giving their all to get a pet...or a look!

Thanks for sharing these, and nicely done. I live with a Pommeranian, and would not mind sharing photos here now and then. I just figured the cats owned the place. Nevermind the fact my dog loves cats and enjoys the weekly parade of felines.

Gina by the River

Gina was born sometime in September 2000. We will never know the exact date because when we adopted her from the Saskatoon SPCA that December, she was "about" twelve weeks old.
For ten years now, a high point in her doggy life has been going to Chief Whitecap Park on the banks of the South Saskatchewan river. Here she is in the increasingly wintry park, nine years ago.
Gina, November 14th, 2003.
and here she is, just last week
Gina, November 6th, 2012
Gina is a real snowdog
with rough outer hair and a thick undercoat...
...even her ears are well insulated!
...so when winter finally comes, 12 year old Gina....
...become a young dog again (or so we very much hope!)
So let's keep the dogs charging! (You can see why DOGS DESERVE A THREAD when you look at what "her" cats are doing over at that infernal Sunday Cat thread!)

Very nice shots of your pup, Alex.
I also particularly like the second one. A terrific shot of a noble beast. Well done.
I agree that there should also be a weekly doggie thread. I remember Erich's valiant efforts to sustain one some years back. I really cannot imagine why there should have been such a problem. Most people are accompanied by a faithful canine at some stage of their lives!
After all, those without a cat ready to hand should also have an opportunity to hone their photographic skills on another ready to hand subject, the family canine ... :-D.
We haven't had a dog in the family for many decades now, but some of my favourite people have been German Shepherds and Dachshunds, along with English Pointers, etc ...
All the best with your endeavours to get it up and running again. Don't be disheartened if it takes a while to take off.

Alxdava, sorry I don't have a dog. BTW someone once said to me.. If you have a cat opens then you will find only "love", but if you have a dog opens you find the "Soccer Scores" LoL .
But I got once a dog and they are great companions and extremely loyal.
