The first thing I noticed here is where the A99 images are nearly 1 stop underexposed against the D600. No clue why anyone would overlook such a thing in a noise comparison but I'm guessing it pretty much makes this test inconclusive.

What I usually like about their tests is that they use the same exposure parameters for different cameras. That's one step in the right direction. But where they usually fail is the light source, which seems anything but constant. Even when looking merely at the A99 exposures, there's a large variance throughout the ISO range.

Despite that, doesn't A99 do just fine?

Shot with DRO 3, Standard scene mode, and probably high nr.

I have seen much better jpeg's.

I used Nikon for over 6 years. Sony is so much more fun to make photos and video. Compare the emotional analogue photos and videos and you are like me not interested anymore in Nikon. I prefer a more colourfull emotional analogue image. Which is even more sharp. It is also so much more dynamic like the picture is starting to move. This week I will receive my A99 with xlr inputs and Rode video pro mic. Wo cares about het iso talk.....
