Gidday All,
Welcome to the Sunday Cat!, brought to you from around the world by the loyal team of regulars every Sunday since Anton AK first started the thread on 23rd Sept 2007 and so faithfully continued by John King from 10th August 2008
Thank you for joining us
Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your picture and stories of your feline companions with us Come one, come all; all cats and cameras welcome. Add your favourite cat shot to the collection. No time limits, taken any time, any place, any camera.
We have had cool cats and hot cats; Canonical cats and Olympian cats; African cats and American cats. There have been Meerkats and mere cats; moggies and high class cats; almost cats and some that I suspect were not really cats at all like that ring-tailed cat that was lost inside cats and OUTSIDE cats; BIG cats and little cats
listen son, you can't let them see you like that! clean up a bit!!!
AND BTW folks:
The Sunday Cat! will (mostly) start when it is still Saturday in the rest of the world, Auckland being GMT +12 hours ... So it is still only around noon "last" Saturday in Hawaii (just for example ... ).
With the only preferred rule being no criticism, of course it's OK to give constructively if the poster specifically asks for it; otherwise the above-mentioned rule applies... It's OK to mention what camera and lens you took the shot with... if you like.
Love the Cat! thread... Like our beloved companion animals, an opportunity for a romp in the sun, and also to remember those who have so affectionately touched us.
The weekly news ...
Alfred that was a stunning shot of Blitzer last week! he's huge!!!
I currently studying for exams, I can't believe the year is almost over! It's getting hotter here, so Dusty is sleeping more during the day and awake earlier in the mornings - I don't think i am a big fan of his timetable!

he just folds his paws and props himself up as if he was at a bar, occasionally he sees the neighbours cat go by
this time he jumped down and was immediately surrounded by curious chickens - i was too busy laughing at him try and scramble back up over the fence to get a decent shot

While I was cleaning up the yard I noticed Kitties might have found something, after a closer look they found their first ever prey.
Chyna and Dave + mouse
mouse play dead
I was happy that they were finally doing their job and I fully expected they would take care the business, so I left them alone.
I still kept a close eye at them and after a few min, the mouse was able to escape under the watch of TWO ADULT CATS, I am so disappointed in them.
I have seen cat playing/killing/eating mouse and I still can't believe how that could have happened....

My brother's beautiful black boy, Wendell, who had to make that last long trip to the vet last Friday.
He was a lovely, sweet cat who was always convinced that everyone he met had a side of beef secreted about their person, just for him.He was quite ancient, and his kidneys had well and truly packed it in. He was much loved by my brother.
This shot was taken last year when he was asking me to produce that side of beef ...

Vale, Wendell. You were a great cat and good companion to my brother.

Momma Kitty is mother and grandmother to many of the wild cats that have come and gone in our back yard. We hadn't seen her for several months and then, one night, there she was, sitting on the brick wall while I practiced trumpet.

Anna, one of her grandcats, was waiting for me at the top of the stairs when I was finished:

I've got to go. Buster just bumped me - he wants back rub.

Dusty sure has a nice vantage point. He's keeping an eye on things while you're busy!

Kudos to Chyna and Dave - they just wanted to play and the mouse was very wise.

It's good to see them get along so well - it's not like what I read in the news. Just another reason to visit this thread every week!

Hi WarriorMouse,
Thank you for mentioning Blitzer in your weekly news, Blitz was very pleased to hear that, and yes he is pretty big cat but I think he is just a little over average for a male Maine Coon being about 8,5 kg and for those still using pounds (18lb 11oz) I always think he gained weight over the time we have him but luckely he is still the same weight, still a heavy lift to pick up

hahaha!!! CAT FAIL!!!
your cats are broken! maybe you can get a refund?
but to tell the truth, my flatmate has just got a couple of white caged rats, and he keeps them as pets - but Dusty avoids them at all cost - i don't understand why he wont even go near their cage, he doesn't even watch them, and when i picked him up and took him near he jumped out of my arms and was off in the opposite direction! and yet he will chase a laser pointer my cat is broken too!
thanks for posting - i think you were incredibly lucky to get those shots!

hi Wayne, maybe you should practice more often? did it make you feel better to know she misses your company? I think I would have given her a treat or two!
