Will be interesting to see what DXOmark says about the a99 raw NR, if it has it. According to them, most of the sony DSLRs do,   http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/Publications/DxOMark-Insights/Half-cooked-RAW/Noise-reduction

It will be hard to compete with the D600 (which doesn't have raw NR) if this is the case.

Re: A99 Chinese Review

Considering the DXO article is some 3-4 yrs old and it also states "other manufacturers" also cook RAW.. well, we can guess who they are so I wouldn't place my bets on Nikon being totally non-cooked either.

Assuming based on outdated info? Check.

Assuming without properly reading the article you linked to (other makers)? Check.

MaxISO on a roll of ignorance again.

Thank you for  sharing

I have gone through every single line and I am very impressive with the details of the review. Having let go my a850, I have this though of holding up for alpha mount camera for a while by, say having a 5D III.

To me it looks like a couple of the first few images are underexposed but if you go through the entire review there are a lot more samples and they appear to be properly exposed.

Sure, the best DSLR ever, to my side! Reason why it's sad to have some photos not very well exposed! Do this photographer have eyes?

I plan to buy the A99.

It's not at all what I would call a «properly exposed high ISO image»
If I have to publish this photo for press magazine, it must be exposed like this:

PP using CIE-lab and some adjustmenent of the WB...

I have already noted that, in a post above! And you know why?! Because Sony setup his camera for a «preservative exposure», to don't blowing highlights! But it's a shame that a tester can receive a camera for testing and don't know that!

Can the A99 show real time histogram in EVF?

Wow! What does that mean?

Here the question is: do this photo is a «properly exposed high ISO image»...

Answer is: not, period!

It's the role of the photographer to solve every situations of light to make a photo (whatever the available light is, whatever available ISO it have nor what camera is used).
So, it would be better too shoot 6400 ISO (than 3200 ISO) and having a «properly exposed image» (or better, using a tripod what is not the shame)

Of course yes! It have real time histogram in EVF I guess (the A900 had «Intelligent Preview» too) But what does that mean if some camera don't have? You can do a test-shoot (pre-shoot) then you can know what the histogram look like for real, and so on...

All that is not about good light available light (or not), features available in-camera (or not), but about the workflow imho.
