. . . . . G3 instead.

I've been watching and participating in this forum for the last month because I really thought my next camera would be a V1. To me, the colours look much better then the competition and I really like the massive depth of field it provides making everything sharp.

In the end though, I was looking for something cheap with an electronic viewfinder and the G3 was picked up for around $300 used but almost new. I mean, that's pretty darn cheap.

I really think the images coming from the V1 look better, but I couldn't ignore a good deal. When the V2 comes out I'm sure I'll be back sifting through this forum again. I think the format will become even more appealing when it matures a bit more.

Thanks all. See you in 6 months?

So in the end a good deal is more important than IQ? I don't get that picture.

Well the V1 dropped to $445 (w/ 10 - 30) on Amazon over the weekend - that seems pretty cheap to me

Maybe a smart alec, but the V1 kit (with 10-30mm lens) is actually selling for less, $399. Adorama may be closed for the holidays but their website is taking orders. The link was posted here :

Kind of wish I saw these deals before. I live in Australia so didn't think to check the American sites. I think I might pick up a V1 and shoot it alongside the G3 and see for myself which one I end up liking.

UPDATE:

I have no longer settled for the G3, I bought both. I just got the V1 and 10-30 from Adorama using the promo code and got it for $379.

Didn't say refurbished anywhere. Can they do that without telling you? Same warranty anyway.
