Hi everyone. I really wanted to share these pictures with all of you. Hope you like them.
Just when I thought I had enough of their bad behaviors, fighting for flower bushes, swooping right passed my head tried to intimidating me, chased away the only female that came to my garden , this precious moment happened. While I was pulling out weeds and had left my spinning lawn sprinkle on one summer morning, this guy just flew down back and forth played with the water mist . I was very fortunate to have my Oldie FZ 18 within reach but still couldn't get any pictures in focus. The Little guy was too fast and my DSLR was inside the house. While I was thinking of what to do to get the picture right he decided to landed on one of the leaf and share the moment with me. I was the happiest person that day :). I thought I would love to share them with all of you. ( FZ 18 & Picasa3 & Faststone )
He looks a bit disheveled, but he was just enjoying the lawn sprinkler.
He just sat there with his back turned at me almost the whole time. I guess he was comfortable with me being around.
It was 5 minutes of joy , then he turned toward me. Flew up and down few time as if to say "thanks Winnie for the shower"......then flew away.
Excellent....Good for you ....you were prepared for that lucky moment(s) !

Oh Winnie, those are spectacular!!! I had the same thing happen, in June, when I was watering, but didn't have my camera outside with me. These poor things are so starved for water, since it's been so dry, that they get very brave.
Thank you so much for sharing. Next year I'm putting up watering containers so they can drink from, and maybe, just maybe, I can get a shot or two of them.
If it pleases you then to hell what everyone else thinks!
WOW Winnie! Absolutely superb. How lucky can you get. You did a great job capturing the fantastic event. These have to be some of the best hummer shots I have ever seen. I have my feeder out for fall migration and I am not really excited about another hummer shot at a feeder. Probably the most enjoyable hummer shots I have ever seen. Great!
Thanks. Everyone will remember these.
I just love the way the little rascal is luxuriating on the edge of that leaf - sheer luxury!

Winnie, these are great! The fun the bird is experiencing comes through in your photos. You did a wonderful job capturing them. Thank you for sharing them. Yuki will love them when she sees them.
Oh my gosh winnie, how absolutely sweet and precious is he? I'm so happy for you to be there to see and photograph this moment! I have heard about hummers coming around when water is on, but never seen it happen in my yard. With this heat, I'm sure the little one really appreciated this. Thank you for posting these winnie, you totally made my day!
Excellent Winnie, your pics shows a "love story" between this little guy and the wet green leaf. You were very lucky viewing this nature treasure. I think, you had a new friend.

Winnie these are fabulous! I my Annie & Karen will love seeing these. Thank you so much.
Wow even that early FZ performs fantastic.
You are a class act minnie
Wow - right place at the right time, eh?
Yesterday I saw a Hummingbird chase a Gold Finch into a tree and when the finch landed the hummer just hovered side-to-side daring the finch to take off again, When it did, the hummer continued its pursuit. I never saw anything like it! They're a pure joy to watch and I truly enjoy every visit.
Well spotted and captured Winnie, what a spectacle. It just needs a blow dry now Stuart
Excellent set, Winnie.. perfect work, only one advice from my side - for the next session prepare a small towel - we don't want the little guy to catch a cold in your garden .. adorable images, each and everyone is a keeper.. thanks for sharing ..
Great shots and great story too. These are very difficult to catch, as a fan of 'old' cameras, it's good to see the fz18 perform so well, especially like #2.
All the best
