Pardon the Interuption

FL is short and it is funny to see users are buying expensive TC just to make its reach longer. If I want toyzoom (which obviously I don't), I will get P510 or SX40.

I don't know, as I understand from the discussion over at PTF, the extra money with the FZ200, going towards say the new TCON 17X, on front doesn't limit light, would give 1020mm at f2.8 that is quite intriguing...Just think I would be able to fill the frame better AND shave off 3 seconds of shutter on a shot like.

From what I have seen, it has mediocre results (even at base ISO) at the long end at widest aperture so you may need to stop down to f/5.6 which render its bright lens useless? Shooting nocturnal bird is a rare occasion only so flash or flashgun might come handy?

Do you remember this?

It only proves my point that the HS30 does a decent job at full zoom/telemacro = centre of lens.

Care to post some wide angle?? No, of course you wont.

Those shots are SOOC JPEGs.

Are you sure those fruits are fresh especially the cherries? Did you scrub it with your hands?

Look at the light and EXIF differences Mr. Nighty!

Is this better? Or would you like me to shoot by candle light next.

This is what I'd like to see from the HS30.
Full wide landscape, uncropped.
(ignore the exposure here, I was still getting used to the camera at the time)

No distortion to be seen edge to edge.

Please show and prove me wrong, Toylens

And I would add to that .... that the grass in Mario's picture doesn't look like green shag rug like my HS10/20 used to render.

And Joms...... since you'll no doubt see this post .... what do you think about this toyzoom compared to a DSLR? Expand them to full.... you can tell the difference, but.... you REALLY have to look... don't ya? The moon shot for the 70-300 was cropped up to match the apparant FL of the P510 - But that's the ONLY cropped photo in the series. And all are as you like them.. straight out of camera jpg's except the P510 crucifix where the white balance was altered to match the D7000 version.

Base on that? You and Mario have been posting mushy and noisy 16MP.

They looked sharp when resized down though.

Do these look downsized to you?

being realistic or not, that is the question....

In my other reply pro-cons on P510 : http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1007&thread=42249584&page=2
i explained some facts about P510 and also touched this wish-list treat.

Because someone wanted me to explain ALL my commends, i jump to this treat for the WISH list i quoted...

My statement was: Most things from this list are already in Fz150.. true or not?
here it comes.

Hotshoe,........ yes
Manual zoom... no
FL markings.....no
PDAF / CDAF

well, this needs some explaining.
Your reason is?? you need MUCH better Af system???
Ok, than i was right, FZ150 has a excelent AF system.

What system it is using?? no idea ... yet... but there will be some surprices here...
what i mean by that??

here is an example. Someone here on DPR wrote about a strange thing he noticed with his FZ150. The cam -should- have 70 Mb internal memory, but in fact, when he uses RAW+JPEG 12FPS 1 sec, the actual data is around 200Mb !! no explaning from pany ..

One person tested the AF om a bird in a tree, the AF past leafs and interlots realy close and focussed on a bird, look at the picture and you see what i mean with that amazing job.
I could NOT do that with the D7000 !!

Some one tested the AF if he/she could findout where the limits of this great AF was..

took2 same coloured papers, placed one further away than other, selected AF track.. and guess what? it stayed on the edge of paper one,and you WOULD expect if it was a CDAF, it would easily jump to other page with the identical colour/contrast.
Explaing pany?? silnce again..

quote joms: I was after FZ150 (just curious about its AF speed) but I cannot find one.

Someone found out, by luck i guess, that the cam has LIVE view...press button x 3 sec, and POP... your large widescreen television/laptop is the realtime monitor of your cam
ideal for long distance watching or birding follow.
pany response? silence.. and its NOT in the manual.

So, CDAF or PDAF.. you tell me what the cam REALY uses ...combo?? (i know manual says CDAF but go to a shop[, hold the cam for few minutes.. and see what i mean, you dont have to OWN the cam for that. Its better than D7000 according my experiance, and that for a bridge! )

So i would say:
Your reason is?? you need MUCH better Af system??? ... yes
More flex LCD... yes
real filter treads ... yes
white colour ...no

more function settings... yes.. FZ150 has 3 complete cust and all others are return to last, if you set that function ON
one touch 15FPS 30FPS 60 FPS.. no

firmware patch.... for what? so solve what? i guess for things that already works fine on Fz150 so ...yes
more video options yes FZ150 has a far completer set

longer shutter speed for lightning etc yes, FZ150 has 5!(or was it 7) more EV at your disposal

Ok, lets get back to reality now,
if..IF.. a Nikon representative was going to grand you some of the total list..
have you ever seen more than 20% of a wishlist implemented?? 25% ??

now take a good look at abouve 4x no and 8 x yes..

this is a 66.6% hit of the wish list for a cam that does not yet exist, and will not exist soon because the P510 just came out.

and even than... if.. IF they implement 40% of the wishlist... it will still be far behind the already 1 year old Fz150

The question (thread) is regarding the P510, not the FZ150 or the HS30. Or can't you read?

well, this needs some explaining.
Your reason is?? you need MUCH better Af system???

You need to first understand the difference between "needing" and "wanting".

Ok, than i was right, FZ150 has a excelent AF system.

So does the P510.

What system it is using?? no idea ... yet... but there will be some surprices here...

CDAF, just like your FZ150

what i mean by that??

Who knows ... you probably don't even know.

here is an example. Someone here on DPR wrote about a strange thing he noticed with his FZ150. The cam -should- have 70 Mb internal memory, but in fact, when he uses RAW+JPEG 12FPS 1 sec, the actual data is around 200Mb !! no explaning from pany ..

That made about as much sense as anything else you've said so far........ none.

One person tested the AF om a bird in a tree, the AF past leafs and interlots realy close and focussed on a bird, look at the picture and you see what i mean with that amazing job.
I could NOT do that with the D7000 !!

I don't think you'd know which end is which on a D7000 ... however some of us do.
Be that as it may, is this the type of "amazing job" that impressed you?

BTW, three seconds before that shot, that bird wasn't there ... two seconds after that shot... that bird wasn't there.

Someone found out, by luck i guess, that the cam has LIVE view...press button x 3 sec, and POP... your large widescreen television/laptop is the realtime monitor of your cam
ideal for long distance watching or birding follow.
pany response? silence.. and its NOT in the manual.

It's funny, how panny gives you all of those little trinket features, but ultimately it can't produce the worlds most powerful lens 24-1000 equiv. like Nikon did. After all, it IS pictures you'll be using your camera for right?

So, CDAF or PDAF.. you tell me what the cam REALY uses ...combo?? (i know manual says CDAF but go to a shop[, hold the cam for few minutes.. and see what i mean, you dont have to OWN the cam for that. Its better than D7000 according my experiance, and that for a bridge! )

Then you have very VERY limited experience.

Ok, lets get back to reality now,

LOL, you wouldn't know reality if reality was a 8 ton Elephant standing on your foot.

Zoom and Focus Control Rings... as Panasonics...

The EVF/LCD switching button al right side not al left...

A biger aperture lens... biger than F3.0 and smaller limit too.

So does the P510.

exelent? ive seen many video's on youtube where i wont use the class excelent,
but if they all lie, or you dont believe it, just say so... if you dare...
, i and can put more than a dozen examples here
you name that exelent?
facts mr. Nightwings facts

and ive seen ppl here with P510 that says at max zoom, its not 100%

CDAF, just like your FZ150

i explaned some things CDAF can NOT do while FZ150 can..
can you explain the paper test?? with CDAF

it was Fuji who introduced a hybride system of CDAF and PDAF in 2010 iirc (thank you Fuji).

dont know if the FZ150 uses a similiar sytem but it works EVEN in video mode AND at full zoom

i didn refere to these two, but these:
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1018&message=41538245

oh, and is it FAIR to compare DSLR 3x price with bridge?? pls tell me
but no problem, just look at original size!

BTW, three seconds before that shot, that bird wasn't there ... two seconds after that shot... that bird wasn't there.

let me see, how long didt it stay there and NOT move, ??

and how many pictures would the FZ150 have taken with 12FPS ?? and a large buffer?

Someone found out, by luck i guess, that the cam has LIVE view...press button x 3 sec, and POP... your large widescreen television/laptop is the realtime monitor of your cam

cant or wont..
Nikon can make filtertreat but wont give it on P510
can make 3d LCD but wont on P510
can make hotshoe but wont on P510 etc etc..
so you were saying?? cant or wont?

yes yes, i did, i know i know... apples with oranges here..

its like some one showing the same picture from a 3x price D7000 and asking: how do you like this 3.500 dollar camera picture? i am pretty sure you will say: apples with apples pls..

now tell me, how does your D7000 picture with a allmost full in view bird
(just a little piece of tree across it)

compare to the little head-only-to AF-on from the FZ150 ??

tell me, im curious about your opinion.. and pls DO enlarge those both pictures

and also, its a real commonly bird, and a real commonly tree,

so pls feel free to take same (composition) ONE-shot (one kill ???)
with your P510 and show it here.
and sure, i have no problem with it when other users jump in with there cams,
more ppl more fun
