***Weekly Wildlife Thread*** Sunday August 12, 2012
Aug 12, 2012

Well folks, it's been a while since a post only lasted three hours on page one. Obviously, the new Sony is a huge hit. Congratulations to all of you who own this little gem. Amidst all the hoopla surrounding this new Sony it was nice to see last weeks Wildlife Thread survive on page one for so many days and reach over 50 posts and replies.

Nicely done, my friends.

Lastly, if I didn't reply to your comments I apologize. Still working through internet issues. I'll write something and try to post it, and my browser just sits there and locks up. DPR and a few other sites are still giving me problems. Please believe that I'm doing my best. Thanks.

Welcome to Sony Talk Forum's Weekly Wildlife Thread

Everyone is invited and encouraged to share your wildlife photography here. Please feel free to post images shot at any time with any camera. Beginner or seasoned pro, it doesn't matter. It's all about our love of the outdoors, wildlife, and photography. If you're new to all this, the STF community encourages you to introduce yourself, and perhaps share a photo or two (or more) with us.

Please follow these rules

When posting your photos, respond to this initial post.

Limit yourself to one photo post (with as many photos as you'd like) per week - if you get more stuff, save it for the following week. We'll all still be here.

Please comment on your fellow photographer's work. It's nice and it's the right thing to do.

Please let us all know the camera used to take your photograph(s). if you would like to share information regarding techniques and processing, please feel free to do so.

Please ask for advice if you need it or want it. There's a wealth of information in this community and, although, many folks are very busy, there's a good chance that someone will have both the answer and the time to give it. So bring on the wildlife, and have fun!

Thank you all,
Rich

A few from the archives..
In reply to harry cannoli, Aug 12, 2012

This time I can not use my health issues to explain my sitting at home in air conditioned comfort watching baseball all weekend and not taking any pictures. It's been over 100 degrees for over a week and it just ain't fun being out in that heat, so I'm off to the archives to dig up some stuff I shot a while ago.

I already have plans for next week to go out and shoot, so I'll be posting some brand new stuff. NO more excuses. I promise

7D, 600mm

20D, 600mm

7D, 600mm

7D, 300mm

Wild Horses (Ahhh, Nevada)
7D, 300mm

As always, thanks for the look.

Have a great week,
Rich

Rich, you are so talented! NatGeo material for certain. The image of the yellow-headed blackbirds will stick in my mind for quite some time; the others are equally beautiful and magnificent.

You are wise to pay mind to the intense heat. The body can get into a lot of trouble via overheating.
