>>>>>The Weekly Close Up 69/2012<<<<<
Aug 11, 2012

Welcome to the Weekly Close Up. where the whos who of macro come to play.

Time to show off those wonderful close up shots no matter if they are macro or not. Please let us know what you use to get the shot and if you are cropping. Any gear is good as long as you post it here.

Remember to post in response to this as I will.

I'm working the weekend so I thought I'd get it going early this week. I'll make replies as I get the chance. You all are free to respond to the images as you like.

Speaking of responses, last week we were being slapped around by the weekly cat thread. THE CAT THREAD!!! Luckily we pulled it out in the end but I prefer the days when we topped out at 150 a week.

So lets get posting

In reply to JiminDenver, Aug 11, 2012

I was a happy bug whisperer when I had a new visitor to the gardens this week.

E 3, 50mm, EC 1.4, SRF-11

Should have used the E 5 for the inflight stuff

A different view

other side

and we have lift off

It's like a fuzzy skeeter sucking this Marigold dry. lol

Thanks for having fun with me and thanks for looking.

Haven't a clue what type of insect this is, but found him enjoying himself in a flower and captured these with the Oly E-5 and Sigma 150mm F2.8 Macro.

What the heck is he?? Excellent shots! He looks comically cross-eyed in the first one.

Great shots, I love the head shots.
I'd sell my 50mm before I'd get rid of my 35mm, it's such a wonderful lens.

That is one mean looking crabby you got there. I only get the one type in different sizes and they always change to the color of the flower they lurk on. That one would stand out like a sore thumb.

You wanna see a crabby go nuts. Find them in a pot of snap dragons where first the white ones bloom, then the pink, then the yellows, then the reds and so on. lol

Nice shots, thanks for sharing
