The Sunday BIRD Volume 8, Issue 6, July 21, 2012
Jul 22, 2012

Good Morning All,
Hope you had a productive week!

If you are new, Welcome, the Sunday BIRD is a place for all bird photographers to show their photos, regardless of skill or camera brand. Ask questions or ask for critique and you will probably get several responses; we have many knowledgeable posters who like to help.

Please help the BIRD from becoming a confused mess. Please post your photos first, a maximum of 5 or 6, please. Post again if you need , as replies to this post before you comment on anyone else’s photos . IMPORTANT: please replace the Sunday BIRD title in the Subject window with one that describes your photos or they will be missed .)
After that, make any comments you wish on the photos already posted.

But don’t put your photos inside a reply to another post, because others won’t see them.

Many photographers (especially newer ones) gain from knowing your EXIF data, especially: Camera, lenses, ISO, metering and focusing methods.

Mine follow:

Cheers and Chirps,
Richard Pavek

Bald Eagles
In reply to Richard Pavek, Jul 22, 2012

Been a while between posts for me--busy, busy work time and not able to get out with the camera. Managed to get out last Monday and take a few of some first year Bald Eagles just out of the nest and Mom or Dad--methinks Dad actually, judging by the smaller size.

All taken from my kayak. The juvenile eagles were not the least bit concerned by me paddling up and taking shots. One you will see with fish scales on it's beak--devoured a fish caught by dad and did not leave hardly anything behind. Ate scales and bones and fins.

First four taken with E5 and 50-200 and EC 2.0. I'm sorry I didn't have my Bigma with me. I would have preferred it with these shots

Last one taken with E5 and 50-200

Swainson's Hawk
In reply to Richard Pavek, Jul 22, 2012

My old E-510 hasn't been seeing much action lately, so I decided to attach it to my Bigma and take it out for an evening spin in the country. This Swainson's Hawk with prey (a ground squirrel, I believe) was the highlight of the night. If I could find a battery grip for my E-510, I think I might use this combination more often. All shots cropped to some degree, as always.

Some birds from a wander around the zoo
In reply to Richard Pavek, Jul 22, 2012

All taken with an OMD + 12-60. Slightly underexposed on some because I wasn't paying attention.

Straight OOC. No adjustments done at this stage.
