In 2012 that would be truly amazing. Does it come with the holographic device to watch it on?

That every one can talk in his language!!!
Why it should be English???
Imperative always is very bad, indeed...
I think all of us have to use Chinese soon.

What a joke. You expect this board to contain every language the world has? The usability would of this place would drop off the map.

I belive the gripes you have are actually with some photographic ("BIF") or even forum-specific jargon ("RDFB"), not with lax English usage itself.

But it's nothing you cannot surmount easily, just give your cognitive skills a chance. So, if you realize that "BIF" usually appears associated with shots of feathery animals when airborne... bingo, mistery solved! (Similar reasoning for RDFB.)

WTF - What is this Fotonut?

BIF - Bird In Flight. Just click the link, you will figure it out in second.

Look around DPR, you should be able to see at least 10 abbreviations.

You do realize SMS is an abbreviation and you used it? It's not even a photography related abbreviation and you didn't use it for irony as you may have with "I.O.W." If you didn't mean to use "I.O.W." in ironic fashion, that is ironic in itself.

I do appreciate that you know what an "abbreviation" is and didn't use "acronym."

The term SMS has less place here, then BIF, since BIF is an accepted term in PHOTOGRAPHIC sites to denote a special type of bird photography called Birds In Flight.

People buy a specific camera, such as a 7D, just for that reason...excellent AF for moving subjects, fast FPS, "reasonable" cost for the body (vs. a 1Dx), crop sensor for "zoomed" FOV, good daylight performance.

Hi Daniel,

Could be wrong, but I think Chris was highlighting the irony of using a text based abbreviation based on an OP asking others not to use them.

The request is valid.

So is his point.

The term "Foto" in your username can be construed by those whose mother tongue is English to be a shortening of the term "Photo."

IOW , your OP is mired in hypocrisy and irony. I've been gone a while and see things haven't changed much WRT to certain OPs AFAIK and IIRC.

...oops

That might not be correct...

Not everyone does...sometimes people write in French or Dutch. Anyone complaining? I don't go to French or Dutch web sites and complain they should communicate in this or that tongue.

The accessibility of the internet is de facto global, that poses problems for non-native speakers. DPR was started in an English-speaking country and was then bought by an English speaking U.S. company and subsequently moved to the U.S., an English speaking country.
