M43 Onion News: Diff'rent M43 Strokes

The National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has announced that it is re-releasing the sitcom in M43 format. The motivation to recreate this sitcom, according to executives, is the wealth of material for episodes created by the raging "equivalence" battles. In this iteration of the TV series FF camera owners adopt two children, Oly and Panny, after the demise of the regular 43rds format (sorry Oly DSLR forum). As they work together they realize that there's more to life than mere equivalence.

Now, the world don't move to the beat of just one drum,
What might be right for you, may not be right for some.
A man is born, he's a man of means.
Then along come two, they got nothing but their jeans.

But they got, Diff'rent Strokes.
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes.
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.

Everybody's got a special kind of story
Everybody finds a way to shine,
It don't matter that you got not alot
So what,
They'll have theirs, and you'll have yours,
And I'll have mine.
And together we'll be fine....

Because it takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.
Yes it does.
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.

Shocker! - street shots...
In reply to SLOtographer, Jun 9, 2012

Hey, wasn't Gary Coleman sort of m43 format himself???

Given to the lack of a "different strokes" mentality and attitude on the forum as a whole, I'm just about completely out of here. Just can't take the life or death struggles that seem to ensue over technical minutia and the anger it engenders.

BUT....

This weekly thread has sort of been like home for the past couple of years and its still a friendly little place to hang out with good folks, so I'm gonna keep coming back whenever I have anything I've shot. And as long as Stan keeps starting us off with his wit every week, how angry could anybody GET!?!?!?!?

So, anyway, these are more of my street fair street shots from last Sunday. Mostly OMD with 12mm, but a couple of GRD3 shots snuck in just to keep us all honest... I'm at the shore for the next three weeks with just an ipad, so probably won't be posting for a while, but will try to check in...

LOL!

Some great processing as usual, the standout shots for me are these two because there's an element of humour in both. The face peering out of the van made me laugh out loud, not even sure why...

The first one reminds me of my late aunt. She was a bit crisp around the edges, possibly as a result of being secretly ferried ashore on dark night during the 1930s to join the International Brigade during the Spanish Civil War. Later she changed her name from Eunice (I called her Aunty Loony) to Romaine since it started with an R and had an abundance of vowels. Now (look at the paper) people like that are those that justify the Great in GB.

On the other hand....I prefer the second and last image. The last one gets a bit dynamic if you scroll up and down quickly.

Thanks Paul.

crisp around the edges

Love it!

BTW tried to comment on your first photo last week but the 150 was up. I thought it was briliant.

Boat, bus and balloon, not necessarily in that order

The bus-stop cafe

they make hot air containers in Bristol

we had a boat launching this week; my friend John made it in 6 weeks!

I am still trying to get my head around this one

I most like the last one because the wooden structure gives it some interest beyond just the rushing water. The others are pretty but that one holds my interest more...

Good lord! Which one of those two is the vampire???

I like that first one, the Third Reich (what's up with THAT?) and I always love to see what people do with stacked furniture, so that last one really works for me too.

I like the perfect circle of the balloon and the last. How is it (and the one I liked last week) processed?

The reflections of the last make it more interesting than the others. Reminds me of the Bob Hope version of The Cat And The Canary.
