I like the N.2 and the last one..... in particular N.2 as it shows the guy in the interesting work environment.

The figurehead is from a cartoonish (but very large) pirate ship in the dockside museum...in, or about to be in, a film about pirates and their evil ways. Those of a certain age will remember a somewhat lewd drinking song that started "it was on the good ship....". A now-deceased friend had a terrible stammer, but once well oiled he would climb onto the bar (at the rowing club) and recite the whole ditty without stopping.

I did not realise it at the time but the rope rigger is the top man in the UK for this sort of stuff...being the ropes (apologies if the term is all wrong) man on a number of tall ships, the Matthew, Cutty Sark, Victory.... Really friendly chap.

Paul,

I like the first two shots the most. The first for its curiosity and good light and the second because it is well composed - the picture frame top left, the gentleman's head and the wheels bottom right provide an interesting diagonal and sense of depth. I would have preferred the second shot if the man had looked either downward or to camera though. I think this kind of shot will one day become a documentary record.

All the best,
Paul

A very interesting set and great IQ as we expect from M9.
I really like the last shot, Paul!

It was on the good ship Venus.....(credit the Sex Pistols I believe)

I really like the colours and DOF in the final shot of the figurehead. A really nice shot.

Steve
