Re: Kingfisher (FZ150) - LT55 question
In reply to cat150, May 28, 2012

Super set Cat150, a beautiful bird well captured. Impressive clarity with such a long focal length.

When using the LT55 and the conversion setting on the FZ150, does the lens effectively become fixed focal length/a prime? Like the LWA52 becomes an 18mm prime on the LX5. Stuart

Thanks Stuart, with LT55 you can zoom (with a magnification factor of x1,7 from 12x to 24x) then from 20.4x optical to 40.8x, with a minimum focusing distance ranging from 5.5 meters to infinity.

Bravo Cat150! I would guess your Kingfishers are as elusive as ours. I think getting a good shot of a Kingfisher is a testament to the photographer. You really know the camera and your results with the LT-55 are again, very impressive and encouraging. A beautiful bird captured very well! One day I hope to capture a Kingfisher and we can compare the beautiful birds. Always look forward to your images.
Peace
Greg

Thanks very much for the praise and kind words Greg, also greatly depends on patience and luck from the right place!
I am sure that if you use the LT55, too, can give you great satisfaction!

Delightful set, Alex.. beautiful rendition of lovely little guy .. my favorite is the first one, good composition (diagonal branch is adding to dynamic feel), the bird is perfectly focused, the textures and detail of plumage are brilliant .. thanks for sharing ..

Ciao,

Nice Job Cat! You captured the KF perfectly. You did a beautiful bird justice for sure. As someone mentioned, king fishers are pretty elusive when it comes to having their picture taken, so you did a great job all around. Congrats!

I remember once spending a full afternoon waiting for the elusive Kingfisher by the side of a river hiding behind a bridge wall and all I got was a fleeting fly bye capturing a blurred image.....your shots are superb to say the least - if only I could have got one shot I would have been very happy - you did remarkably well.......Superb Captures......Best regards,,,,,,Suttzzs.
