Airborne Forces Day
Airborne Forces Day
May 27, 2012
yesterday we visited trebah gardens in cornwall to visit the lovely grounds
and to see the flowers
and there was a Airborne Forces Day Remembrance service
some of these men left this little cornish beach 70 years ago for the
normandy D landings
some never made it back
i think this picture says it all
now we are down on the small beach from where they departed 70 years ago
the wreath is laid at sea
who would have thought 70 years ago that a vicar would be helping you back up the beach what a lovely moment in time for me to witness
and these last 3from my kodak p880 i was trying to capture the wreath between their heads
a helping hand and a shoulder to cry on
I have total respect for all that have served there country and some that have paid with there lives god bless them all.
Second to none.
A wonderful series. The salute shot does say it all. Well done.
