A few more from the Strachov library in Prague
May 22, 2012

AS Akebono said - a photographers paradise, and a book lover's too:

A highly recommended place to visit.

Dov,

you consistantly do such a fine job in this type of setting. I get a sense of what it must look like, thanks to your postings. Many thanks for these wonderful pics. I marvel at the detail and workmanship evidenced there. I hope you weren't lacking for memory card storage during your trip. So many subjects, so little time. Thank you for another stunnig set, Mike

It's a great serial again Dov. The first one I would like to see some more synchronicity in it and I would crop the upper bit out of it. The other pictures seem perfect to me. It's hard to take a winner, but I would say the last one is my favourite.
Kind regards, Gerhard

Just imagine Dov, Tycho de Brahe may have walked in that room around 1600's.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tycho_Brahe

"After disagreements with the new Danish king in 1597, he was invited by the Bohemian king and Holy Roman emperor Rudolph II to Prague, where he became the official imperial astronomer."

For your very kind and gracious words. It is indeed a marvelous place, as so many in Prague are. I had enough memory cards, but actually took an average of about 200-250 shots a day for the five days we were there. i was happy to find the percentage of keepers was very very high.

Hope to post some more soon.

all the best

Thanks for the tour, Dov.. beautiful rendition of the famous library, the last two pictures are my favorites - I remember Akebono postings taken from similar vantage point, (also remember his trouble with the battery charger on that trip, ).. a pleasure to look at your set, thanks for posting and waiting for more ..

Kind regards,

Beautiful compositions, Dov. You sold me on visiting Prague. I assume These were taken with the LX5. The detail, sharpeness and colors are unbelievable. The ceiling reminds me of some of the Cathedrals we visited in Spain.
Take care

These classic European libraries are spectacular, and you have done a fine job of capturing the essence. Reminds me of the Library of the Senate of France that I visited and photographed. Also the library at Trinity College in Dublin is wonderful, but alas, no photography allowed.
