A couple D200 pics for C&C

New D200 owner here.

Here's a probably the the best couple images I've gotten off of this new camera.

I like available light shooting and don't mind the extra noise at elevated ISO

It really works will with the 35mm F1.8

Picked it up for $375.

Included:
2 batteries (Nikon branded) and charger
a radio popper
2 CF cards
box/manual/all original items
has 37k clicks on it.

I'm a happy owner

a couple of tweaks that I use on my D200:

  • auto-iso with 1/60 and iso max 800 when using the 35 1.8 (so that you don't care when shooting in low light, the camera adjusts itself the iso)

  • high-iso noise reduction to low settings (otherwise pics are too soft)

  • matrix exposure constant adjustment of +0.3 EV (reduces the noise from shadows a bit and better looking portraits)

  • one focus point (put it on the eye)

  • optimize image sharpness +1 and contrast to 0 (sharpness +2 adds artifacts around contrasted areas and contrast to 0 and not auto to get great contrast)

as for the composition, the first pic is great, the second is interesting by not being straight, still i found too bad to cut the kids' head

I like to also set the camera on tone 0.

I use noiseware pro when I have to shoot above iso 400. I really helps. I select the noise reduction in camera to off! It really not that good and it softens the pics. Just do nr in a 3rd party software and you will be way ahead of the game!

mine has 90k clicks!

really lovin' all these tips.

I use Noise Ninja.

I'm going to try turning NR to off on the camera.

I've started using the uncompressed NEF and I think I like the results. A little slower on the fps, but that's okay.

Thanks!
